This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and protected when you use the Spy Bestie mobile application (the "App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our limited data practices.

Who We Are

Summary

We built Spy Bestie to be a private experience. We want to be clear up front:

  • We do not require you to create an account. You can play without signing up, logging in, or providing your name, email, or any personal identifiers.
  • We do not collect personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location, or health data.
  • We collect limited, anonymous analytics to understand how the App is used and to improve it.
  • We do not sell your data. Ever.

Information We Collect

1. Anonymous Usage and Analytics Data

To understand how players use the App and to improve gameplay, performance, and features, we collect anonymous, aggregated usage data. This may include:

  • Which screens, cases, and features are used, and interactions within them (for example, when a case is started or completed, or when certain screens are viewed)
  • A randomly generated device identifier used to distinguish one installation from another (this is not linked to your identity and cannot be used to personally identify you)
  • General technical information such as app version, device type, and operating system version
  • Diagnostic information related to app performance and stability

This data is not tied to your real-world identity. We use it only in aggregate to improve the App.

2. Purchase and Subscription Data

If you purchase a subscription, the transaction is processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive or store your payment card details, billing address, or other payment information — Apple handles all of that.

To manage subscriptions and verify entitlements (for example, to confirm whether you have an active subscription), we use a third-party subscription management service, RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives a randomly generated, anonymous identifier and information about your subscription status from Apple. This is used solely to deliver the content you have purchased and to provide customer support if you contact us.

Information We Do NOT Collect

For the avoidance of doubt, the App does not collect or access:

  • Your name, email address, or phone number
  • Your contacts or address book
  • Your photos, camera, or microphone
  • Your precise or approximate location
  • Your health or fitness data
  • Any content within other apps on your device

The "phone" you explore inside Spy Bestie is entirely fictional and part of the game. The App does not access, read, or interact with your real phone's messages, photos, calls, or any other real personal data.

How We Use Information

We use the limited information we collect to:

  • Operate, maintain, and improve the App
  • Understand which features and cases are popular so we can create better content
  • Diagnose technical problems and improve performance and stability
  • Deliver and verify subscriptions and purchased content
  • Respond to support requests you send us

We do not use your information for advertising or profiling, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.

Third-Party Services

We rely on a small number of trusted third-party service providers to operate the App. Each processes only the limited data necessary to provide its service:

These providers may process and store data on servers located outside your country of residence. Where this happens, we rely on the providers' own safeguards for international data transfers.

Data Retention

We retain anonymous analytics data only for as long as it is useful for improving the App. Because this data is anonymous and not linked to your identity, it cannot be used to identify you. Subscription status information is retained for as long as needed to provide your purchased content and for the periods required by our service providers and applicable law.

Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the limited information we process against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

The App is rated for mature audiences and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your data, such as the right to access, correct, or delete it. Because we do not collect personal information or maintain user accounts, we typically do not hold data that can be linked to you individually. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes may also be communicated within the App. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
